HDBeenDope performs at Commodore Barry Park in honor of Juneteenth
Brooklyn-native rap artist HDBeenDope is a multi-faceted powerhouse leading the next generation of hip-hop artists.
HD is gearing up to release his next project with multi-platinum producer Dizzy Banko and Side B: Phase One with Grammy Award winning producer Pluss – a follow up to his most recent project, Side A: The Preface, with multi-platinum producer, Earl On The Beat, who is credited for crafting renowned hits like City Girls’ “Act Up” and “Get Dripped” by Lil Yachty. HD’s 2020 release also includes collaborations with Roc Nation artist Maeta, Landstrip Chip and standout single “ReallyMite.” The release of Side A: The Preface earmarked a momentous beginning to HD’s journey as he’s accumulated numerous marquee performances on some of the biggest stages across the country under his belt like Rolling Loud New York, Littlefield NYC and his most recent Juneteenth performance at Commodore Barry Park.
Prior to Side A: The Preface, HD dropped the massively successful Madden NFL 21 track, “Top” which he produced and recorded in just 72 hours. His thought-provoking lyrics, dynamic production, and visuals propelled his dominance in NBA2k, EA’s UFC, MTV’s At Home, and earned him a contending spot in XXL Magazine’s 2020 Freshman of the Year.
Side A: The Preface was precluded by his 2019 album release, BrokeN Dreams dissecting issues of idolism, struggles make ends meet a musician, and more. The project blends East Coast classic sounds with minimalist trap styles, and weaves together appearances from Rodes Rollins, Mayila and Maeta. The project’s lead track “Die With Me,” cultivated critical acclaim from HYPBEAST, DJBooth, XXL and more.
Over the course of 2019, HD also released a series of one-off singles including “Cayman,” “Rev Run,” and the massive hit “BYRD,” a no-holds-barred trap-influenced song that’s earned over 23 million streams and views to date.
HD first started making music and shooting videos when he was 12 years old, utilizing the art form as his own personal outlet. His 2016 debut project, Pheace Be The Journey, was an instant success that earned him an opening slot for Portugal The Man on their US tour. His undeniable star power brought him to music venues across Europe as well as performances alongside the likes of Supa Bwe, Black Milk and Lil Xan.
