NLE Choppa’s ‘Me Vs Me’ Releases Tomorrow
NLE Choppa is a rapper from Memphis, Tennessee. His real name is Bryson Lashun Potts. Born on November 1, 2002, to a black and Jamaican mother, he is still 19 years old. He rose to prominence with his 2019 single “Shotta Flow,” certified platinum by the RIAA, and peaked in the Billboard Hot 100’s top-40. Cottonwood, his debut EP, was also released in 2019.
Top Shotta, NLE Choppa’s debut studio album, was released in 2020. It reached number ten on the US Billboard 200 and featured the singles “Camelot” and “Walk Em Down,” both charted in the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100. From Dark to Light, NLE Choppa’s debut mixtape was released in 2020.
NLE Choppa, at 18, burst onto the scene with poise, charisma, and intelligence far beyond his years, immediately grabbing our attention and capturing our hearts. Choppa has over 3 billion cumulative streams across platforms and 618 million total YouTube views, establishing a cult following that defies age and socioeconomic status. His breakout hit, “Shotta Flow,” has an RIAA platinum certification and over 135 million views for its raw, true-to-life music video alone. In comparison, the remix featuring Blueface has over 161 million views and counting. Choppa’s singles “Camelot,” “Shotta Flow Remix,” and “Shotta Flow 2” have all been certified platinum by the RIAA, while “Shotta Flow 3,” “Famous Hoes,” and “Capo” have all been certified gold. His music and charisma have also gotten him a lot of attention.
He released his first song as YNR Choppa in March 2018, “No Love Anthem.”, Later that year, he released his debut mixtape, No Love the Takeover. He appeared on “No Chorus Pt. 3,” a cypher-style song by his Shotta Fam collective,
NLE Choppa is known for his animated and energetic rap and flow, which he used prominently on his breakout single “Shotta Flow.” AHe grew up listening to UGK and Lil Wayne, but he also was influenced by Memphis artists and culture.
Me vs. Me is set to be released through Warner Records on January 28, 2022. His third mixtape features Young Thug, Polo G, G Herbo, and Moneybagg Yo.
