A Chestnut Family Christmas premieres tonight at 9pm EST on OWN!
This family Christmas comedy tells the story of pastry chef, Nina Chestnut played by Megan Holder, who commits to hosting her family for the holidays. She impersonates a successful homeowner to impress them and relieve herself of the “black sheep” label she has carried her entire life. Everything appears to be going well until everyone’s secrets are revealed, and relationships begin to fall apart.
Megan Holder and Brad James, who plays Nina’s hired love interest, Malcolm Butler, reflect on their experience filming Post COVID shut down. The team on the film was excited to transition from pre-production on zoom to the opportunity to work together in person and really experience and enjoy each other.

Megan says if she was a ‘rent-a-girlfriend’ for the holidays, she would go all-in for the job. Her go-to dish to showcase her skillset in the kitchen is collard greens with ham hocks. Newlywed Brad James is excited to spend time with family, joke around, and guess who brought a “rent-a-boyfriend/girlfriend’. He is anticipating the matching family onesies, including one for the dog. Megan is ready to spend time at home with her family this holiday season watching “The Preacher’s Wife.”
