G. Herbo has just launched a new initiative to provide “black young adults with therapeutic resources that help inform and improve their mental health in the pursuit of a better quality of life.”
Titled “Swervin’ Through Stress: Tools to Help Black Youth Navigate Mental Wellness,” this multi-tier program offers a phone hotline, therapy sessions, and more to underserved communities. Check out the official site here.
“Swervin’ Through Stress” was created in partnership with the company Audiomack. G. Herbo told The Chicago Reader that it was a project to put 150 children through therapy. “At their age, you never know how critical it can be to have someone to talk to—to have someone help you better yourself and your situation.”
Why do you believe that there is a stigma surrounding therapy and other mental health resources? Comment below.
