NBA kneels during opening game to protest racism

The players fell to their knees as an act of protest against racist crimes and in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

The NBA returned to activity yesterday night and many eyes focused on the announced tributes to the anti-racist movement of ‘Black Lives Matters’ that has taken over the United States for months.

Before the Jazz-Pelicans game, a version of the anthem was played on the piano and without lyrics, while prior to the initial jump of the Clippers-Lakers, the hymn was intoned only with voice and without music through a video projected on the video screens.

All the players, with LeBron James in front, put their knees on the ground wearing shirts with the slogan ‘Black Lives Matters’ and many others, such as Pau Gasol, echoed the claim on their social networks by sharing a video with the icon of the raised fist in three different skin tones.

Do you agree with this gesture by the players? Is kneeling during the national anthem disrespectful? Share your opinion in the comment box and let us know what you think!
