The leader of Freebandz is committed to the future and education.
The Georgia-born rapper has announced that he will award scholarships to first-year college students through the FreeWishes Foundation’s “Still A Dreamer” campaign.
“You don’t have to be in the perfect situation or come from the perfect environment to achieve your dreams,” he said in a press release. “Despite this COVID-19 pandemic, I encourage all dreamers to keep dreaming big.”
“We recognize that many families have been financially affected by COVID-19. As we move quickly into this new environment, we would like to continue making dreams and wishes come true.”
Applicants must submit a video essay explaining how they were affected by COVID-19 and why they are “still a dreamer.” A panel of judges will review the entries, which can be submitted until July 27 at 3 pm ET.
To apply for the scholarship, students must be 2020 high school graduates and Georgia residents. They are also required to have a 3.0 GPA or higher, be enrolled in a college or university for the upcoming fall semester, and have proof of participation in community service.
The maximum scholarship is $ 2,500. Potential applicants and their families can find more information here.
