Los Angeles Police Department arrests 5 suspects for the murder of Pop Smoke

Police are working hard to do justice for Pop’s death.

Five people were reportedly arrested for the murder of Pop Smoke. According to TMZ, the Los Angeles Police Department issued multiple search warrants in Los Angeles on Thursday morning (July 9), resulting in the arrest of five people believed to be related to the murder.

Sources close to the situation say that three adults and two minors were detained, although the charges were not immediately disclosed. The five people will undergo a police interview and will then be reserved.

The Brooklyn-born rapper, whose real name is Bashar Barakah Jackson, was shot dead in a Hollywood Hills home in February in what police initially suspected was an invasion of his home. Initial reports said two men wearing hoodies and masks stormed the home around 4:30 am local time and fired multiple shots before fleeing on foot.

Emergency services arrived at the scene and attempted to administer CPR before transferring him to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood, where he died. Pop was 20 years old at the time of his death.

Pop Smoke’s posthumous album, “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon,” was produced with the help of 50 Cent and will be released this month. Many people believe the album will debut number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
