Various Hip Hop and R&B artists postpone their releases amid protests over the death of George Floyd

Today, June 5, would be a pretty busy day for the Hip Hop and R&B industry. However, the recent protests that have occurred across the country have caused a change in plans.

Amid protests demanding justice for George Floyd’s family and the black community at large, many artists have decided to postpone their releases in solidarity with the cause.

This is a list of the Albums and EP that were planned to be released today:

  • G-Eazy – Everything’s Strange Here
  • Boosie Badazz – In House
  • Max B – Charly
  • Chloe x Halle – Ungodly Hour
  • Marlon Craft – Work From Home
  • Iann Dior – I’m Gone
  • Dizzy Wright and Demrick – Blaze With Us 2

While these artists decided to delay their releases, others chose to bring the date forward before Friday, June 5.

Run the Jewels, the El-P and Killer Mike duo released RTJ4, their fourth studio LP on Wednesday, June 3rd. RTJ4 is available to download for free.

Since Monday, June 1, the music industry has joined a silent protest to stand in solidarity with the black community in the US and demand justice for the murder of George Floyd.
