“I worked so hard to get here. So hard.” The tears streaming down KB Balla‘s face are impossible to ignore. A firefighter for the Brooklyn Center Fire Department, Balla has a wife and four children, and invested his entire life savings into a sports bar that was destroyed by rioters just a few days ago.

“I don’t know what we’re going to do.” His sports bar was brand new and even during the interview, looters came back in an attempt to steal KB’s safe. The above video went quickly went viral.

A GoFundMe page was started. Taken from the page: “Scores Sports Bar was LOOTED, VANDALIZED and DESTROYED 5/27/2020. This black-owned business is left trying to pick up the pieces amidst mourning with the community …

On 5/29: “the entire building was burned down and has been reduced to rubble as have many buildings in the surrounding area.”
