Italian prodigy and blind opera singer Andrea Bocelli has just announced his “swift and full recovery” from COVID-19. Bocelli, his wife Veronica, and two of his children, all tested positive for the virus earlier this year. Even though Andrea Bocelli is now 61 years old, he recovered by the end of March.
“Out of respect for those for whom contracting the virus has had more serious consequences,” Bocelli chose not to reveal this information until now. “The pandemic which has shaken the world has also affected — albeit mildly — me and certain members of my family. I certainly didn’t want to unnecessarily alarm my fans and also wished to protect my family’s privacy.”
Bocelli has now chosen to donate plasma and blood to assist in COVID-19 research and the discovery of a cure.
