Selena Gómez congratulates students who graduate this year

The year 2020 has been a very tough one, not only for those who have been affected by the Coronavirus but also for students. Especially those who will graduate this year.

Due to quarantine and confinement measures, many students had to miss such a significant moment in their lives as graduation. For this reason, Selena Gómez dedicated a few words of support to all the students who are immigrants.

Through the YouTube account of the organization Define American (DA), this Saturday, the singer delivered a very special speech to the immigrant community as part of the #Inmigrad Virtual Start 2020 movement.

In a video of just over a minute, the singer argued that although it is difficult not to be able to celebrate together, it is important to be proud of their achievements, and that both the graduation and the ceremony are “very real”

“I want you to know that I care and that your experiences are a big part of American history. When my family came here from Mexico, they launched my American story, as well as yours. I am a proud third-generation Mexican-American and my family’s journey and sacrifices helped take me where I am today. My story is not unique. Each of you has a similar story of becoming Americans” said Selena
